Kids Internet Safety Workshops & Classes

For Smarter Choices in a Digital World

From gaming to YouTube, technology is everywhere and evolving fast. Its scope for learning and enjoyment seems endless, so it’s only natural that parents and educators want children and teenagers to embrace the opportunities it brings.

But online activity can be risky too. Given the hours so many children spend online, many parents and teachers worry about very real issues like cyberbullying, sexting, phishing, or being approached online by strangers.

So how do we help young people make wiser, more informed decisions about what they see, say and do online? How can we make their interactions with the digital world — their world — a safer, more positive experience, so they have a healthy balance of screen time and other activities?

At Leebow we cover all this and more in our comprehensive, engaging and effective Internet Safety workshops. With support from skilled professionals, children and teenagers learn how to think critically and to navigate the Internet safely and with greater confidence.

So parents and teachers can trust more and worry less.

Features of All Leebow Internet Safety Workshops

  • Our workshops are tailored to specific age groups, ensuring that the content is age-appropriate and engaging for all students.

  • To build a strong learning foundation, we cover five key topics in depth: digital footprint, cyberbullying, online stranger safety, appropriate content and digital health. We continually review our material to ensure it is current and relevant.

  • Our experienced facilitators are highly skilled at engaging openly and without judgement with students, parents and educators alike, including conversations on difficult topics such as trolling, cyberbullying or sexting.

  • We offer flexible options to suit each school's particular needs, including different workshop lengths, add-on sessions for parents and teachers, and special rates for smaller schools.

  • Our workshops are interactive and hands-on, incorporating multimedia elements that keep students engaged and interested in the material so they are motivated to learn — and keep learning.

  • We get it. Schedules change. And whilst it’s always best to give us as much notice as possible, when unforeseen circumstances cause a class or workshop to be postponed, we always work with schools to reschedule.

  • At Leebow, we take a holistic approach to learning. So our Internet safety classes go beyond the technical aspects to explore the psychological and behavioural aspects of all kinds of online behaviour. This ensures that students, parents and teachers gain a more rounded and comprehensive understanding of how to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

  • Our approach is very effective, but you don’t have to take our word for it. Check out some of the many positive reviews we’ve received from schools we’ve worked with, highlighting the value of what we do.

Who We Work With

We work with children of all ages and abilities. Our in-depth workshops are tailored to meet the needs of each of the six year groups in secondary school and of three different age groups in primary school:

  • Junior Infants to 2nd Class (30 minutes)

  • 3rd and 4th Class (60 minutes)

  • 5th and 6th Class (60 minutes)

Each workshop explores five key topics in an engaging, age-appropriate way that encourages students to open up, ask questions, get talking and learn what they need to stay safe online.

Topics include:

  • Understand the impact of your online presence across all platforms, accounts and channels. And learn how to manage it responsibly for both yourself and others.

  • Learn how to maintain a healthy balance between online and offline activities for overall wellbeing. Discover what doom scrolling does to your brain and mood and learn how to switch off from your devices and get rest and fun outside the world online.

  • Understand how to recognise and respond to cyberbullying behaviours, and discover simple, useful strategies for staying safe. With children in fifth and sixth class in primary school, we talk about Coco's Law and how it applies to minors.

  • Learn to avoid interacting with people who don’t know you personally. This module also teaches students to identify and avoid all potential online dangers, from straightforward financial fraud to online stalking.

  • Learn what makes appropriate content different from inappropriate content. And discover when and how to access and share content responsibly so you can navigate the digital world with confidence.
